Nike Sportswear makes it rain on the moon

September 24, 2009, AAB

Nike Sportswear Lunar Everyday

Here’s a commercial, or better, a product shot made by AKQA for Nike ‘Sportswear’ – paradoxically that’s Nike’s fashion label. The shoes are called the Lunar Everyday and the money made on them goes to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. We don’t know who this bloke is, nor why exactly he is running in the rain (does it rain on the moon?), but AKQA did a good job in making these shoes look very sexy.

    Hi,

What are the different media channels used for NSW promotions? I’m a media planner so it would be great to know more about innovative media used for Nike.. I’m sure digital was part of the plan. In India all the press ads were printed with 2D barcodes. And when user download the Nike AR app as mentioned in the ad, and scans the code animated images of the sports personality in the ad appeared.. I found it interesting. The campaign here was executed here by a company called telibrahma and groupm.

They do a lot of offline experiences, like building pop-up stores and distributing the products through hip venues. Also they make very conceptual, almost arty magazines. And of course NSW uses the internet. This example was only made for the dedicated online Nike channel.
