We’ve seen this a few times before; using your Facebook data as input for a customized film – in 2009 for the first time. This one, creating a ‘Timeline Track,’ uses the text from a Facebook post and incorporates it in a song. The song gets a personalized album cover and can be downloaded and shared. The song itself – created by hiphop producer SirOJ – didn’t really impress us since the computerized text sounds rather clunky. But it all technically works very smoothly and looks pretty hip and attractive. According to Geert Mol, Head of Marketing Mobile, this ad should make look Samsung innovative and sophisticated. We suppose it does. But it feels more like a brand campaign than a promotion for the Galaxy SIII – which it apparently is. The concept was created by Cheil Benelux and the technical execution was done by MediaMonks and MassiveMusic.
