Anomaly opened The Unfortunately Small Gallery, a contemporary art space located on the Herengracht. Its mere 2.3 m2 make it officially Amsterdam’s smallest gallery. The gallery space is launched with the exhibition “1 to 6”; created by Dutch multidisciplinary visual artist Helmut Smits, involving a dice, a copy machine and a whole lot of patience. The print-sized gallery space will host different exhibitions every two months by established and upcoming artists. Mark Sloan, Executive Creative Director, about the artists: ” [They] have been inspired by the size of our space to create site-specific work. The aim is to generate dialogue and collaboration between artists and the creative industry. And have a bit of fun.” The first show is on display until 5 April, at Herengracht 257.
