With a venue such as the Vondelkerk, we have to admit you’ve got yourself a head start merely by sending the invite. Last Friday The Gardeners celebrated their fifth anniversary in the impressive church (completed in 1880) right next to the Vondelpark. On entrance, a delegation of campy little garden gnomes greeted the guests from the steps of the stairs that go up to the agency’s office space. Inside, exceptionally charming (by that we actually mean HOT!) barmen extended the theme of hospitality.

For the occasion, the nave of the church was dressed with a stylish wine and cocktail bar, a stage where later in the evening Jett Rebel showed off his musical talent, and a life-size green, tree-like object that, in line with the name of the agency, gave the whole a warm and cozy atmosphere. With fresh bites such as blinis with beetroot and goat’s cheese, in combination with cocktails prepared with a rare prudence, it was clear that the event was put together with an eye for detail. We have the feeling that this will positively reflect on the agency’s reputation, and already look forward to the next anniversary. Pity there wasn’t more dancing going on. More photos here.
