The brand new Volkshotel is a new design hotel in Amsterdam and cultural hotspot. To share this with the world, the hotel – based in the previous printing office of newspaper de Volkskrant – asked two photographers to stay at the Volkshotel for 24 hours and share their experience in images.

One photographer, Dennis Duijnhouwer (image above), shows the Volkshotel more or less realistically. The other, Astrid Verhoef, uses her imagination and creates somewhat surreal images. The Volkshotel will also ask some visitors to record their stay with Lomography cameras.

Quite smartly all photos will be shared through the Volkhotel’s website and social media and in January the project closes with an exhibition featuring all the output.
