UncleGrey Denmark and MediaMonks have created “BBQ Cultures” for BBQ brand Weber, which is a digital platform featuring a series of films with an interactive layer on top, allowing you to dive into different BBQ cultures and – naturally – Weber products. The combination of film and digital turns it into very sophisticated product instructions – though the press release speaks of “TVCs”.

What makes this production quite unique is that both the platform as well as the films are produced by digital production company MediaMonks. That’s why the 3-day film shoot was done by director Tom Rijpert alongside interactive director Jeroen van der Meer. By doing so MediaMonks made sure the footage would serve both the “TVCs” as well as the more extensive story that is unlocked through the interactive features. The films were shot by Robbie van Brussel.
