Only yesterday we wrote that in advertising you don’t know what’s real anymore. Well, here is a good example. The film confuses us. It pretends to be ‘real’ but the bad acting gives away that it’s not.
Maybe the only real thing in the film is the Facebook comment by Timo Ros. Which does reveal a nice little insight. Though the commercial is more about stalking than breaking.
Fortunately the average (potential) Volkswagen driver will be less picky. What’s more the film clearly communicates safety – which is of course what Volkswagen is all about with its “adaptive cruise control”. Finally, the film is going pretty viral. So forget about what we said.
