Olympic ski-jump from Amsterdam tram halt

March 5th, 2010, Guerrilla, Mobile

This is quite an innovative ad for Samsung. We’re a bit late showing it, since the Olympics are already over, but the mechanism of this ‘spectacular’ is quite impressive. The video basically speaks for itself; you can film and mail yourself directly from the interactive tram halt. The content is a bit lame, but we’ll forgive Samsung. At least we’re getting the message that de Samsung Omnia has an app that allows you to follow the Winter Olympics wherever you are – although we have to say that we could do the same with the offcial Vancouver App on our iPhone. Anyway, it was made by Media Republic and 2010 in collaboration with JC Decaux.

PICNIC: Paint The World Orange

September 30th, 2008, Event

At PICNIC 2008, Bas Verhart - CEO Media Republic, founding father of Picnic and member of the Innovation Platform of the Ministry of Economic Affairs - presented the Paint The World Orange competition. This contest challenges the (international) creative industry to develop innovative marketing concepts, tools and ideas to position the Netherlands as an international hub for creative talent, and a global force in innovation. From all entries, five candidates will be asked to further develop their ideas. The jury – led by the famous Dutch designer Marcel Wanders – will announce the winning concept in the Spring of 2009. Bas Verhart: “We’re asking the creative industry to come up with good ideas. It could be a tulip shaped island, but anything will do as long as it’ll work”.
