be as you are

bsur calls itself a ‘Dutch international’, because it has Dutch founders, but at the same time many international clients. The agency made an unforgettable impression in 2005, with the Stiletto Run - a race on high heels - in Amsterdam’s most famous fashion street, to promote the glossy ‘Glamour’. The event got a huge amount of free publicity and was so successful that today it’s organized in different cities around the world. Co-founder Jan Rijkenberg, the experienced and multi-skilled ad man, is the big diesel behind the agency’s success. He is also know for promoting Amsterdam as creative capital.

Win two ecstasy trips to Ibiza with 538

July 27th, 2010, Print

One of the biggest radio channels in the Netherlands, Radio 538, advertises its Ibiza promotion with two ecstasy pills in the colours of its visual identity; “Listen and win a trip for 2 to Ibiza”. You would almost forget that ecstasy is considered a hard drug – even in the Netherlands. Maybe they should have added a legal disclaimer, saying; “we recommend you to first try one E, to see how it lands, and only then move to the next one”. In any case, an effective ad that will attract the exact right audience for a trip to Ibiza. It also says you should check the 538 website for more info. We did, but couldn’t more info - it probably didn't fit on the information overloaded website anymore. Anyway, the ad was made by bsur.

Quest persuades consumer with ‘cacaoïne’

September 2nd, 2009, Print

Quest Cacoïne - September 2009Quest magazine always knows how to draw attention to its latest issues. Its advertising, made by bsur, is usually a combination of a funny premium – attached to the magazine and directly related to the content - and a photo of the magazine in outdoor. This time it’s a free supply of brown coloured ‘cacaoïne’ that should make the target wonder what the September issue is all about. The cacaoïne refers to a big ‘pleasure’ survey, in which 29% of the respondents answered it thinks that chocolate is addictive. Hence the free sachet containing 5 grams of pure cacaoïne; “100% natural drug”. Persuasion in its purest form.
